What Type of Date Palm?

When people talk about a date palm as an indoor plant, they're generally talking about the Phoenix palm or pygmy date palm. Although this species does produce dates (under the right conditions), it will not grow to the same height and size that full-sized date palms regularly grow to. Indeed, there aren't many homes that could even consider a full-sized date palm, since it can grow to well over 100 feet!

However, date palms are beautiful and very regal. They look especially at home in an elegant entrance hall or lobby. You'll have noticed how popular they are with the most exclusive hotels, since they also seem to denote opulence and serene calm. The only problem is that even a miniature date palm can grow pretty big. So what's the answer?

The Serenity of an Artificial Date Palm

It will also remain at the height you chose, so you won't have any problems with it trying to grow through the ceiling! Of course, an artificial date palm won't give you any dates. But then a real miniature date palm is not going to fruit indoors either.
