Paver lighting illuminates walkways to provide good visibility as well as an attractive appearance for your home and yard. In the years past, walkways either had to be lit with lampposts, or not at all. While often times lovely, the light fixtures were vulnerable to damage from bad weather or vandalism.

More recently, lighting moved down to ground level, in the form of lawn floodlights. These, however, have the problem of being ugly black boxes that mar the appearance of the lawn. This kind of lighting is far more aesthetically pleasing than other lighting choices because of its interplay with the materials into which it is placed. Paver lights literally appear to be "woven" into the pathway. This interplay of lights with solid surfaces is very pleasing to the eye. Because many lights are used and not just one, they can afford to have a softer focus, gently diffusing around the edges into darkness until another light appears.

Because of how paver lighting is constructed and installed, it is also well protected from the elements and other damaging forces. For one, their very placement protects them: paver light fixtures are recessed within walls, wood decking, grass or concrete. Also, paver fixtures and lenses are typically protected by a layer of strong, durable plastic. Still, some companies offer warranties with their paver lights for extra assurance.
