When people interested in gardening hear of a "list of easiest vegetables to grow" you generally find that they all have varying answers. Its as though no two people out of the wide variety of people who are involved in home gardening agree on the same five. Well, it is probably going to be the same case here as I tell you my five favorites but I would say to have an open mind and try a few if you have not yet tried to grow them.
One of the easiest vegetables to grow are carrots. There really is no complexity involved with growing this particular vegetable. The carrot is considered a root vegetable for obvious reasons. The obvious reason being that the vegetable itself is the root of the plant. As long as there is no rock in the soil where someone intends to plant this carrot (and if there is rock, the rock will most likely just affect the shape of the carrot, but the carrot will definitely still be healthy and edible) then there is really nothing else to worry about. The carrot is a very easy vegetable to grow.
Cucumbers are great and is one of the easiest vegetables to grow also. Again, find a spot of soil and go right ahead. One of the only things to consider is the sprawling tendency of this plant. You just need to allow a bit of a wide area to account for this but again, outside of that, planting this vegetable is a pretty easy going task.
Tomatoes are another easy vegetable to work with. What makes this vegetable one of the easiest to grow is the little maintenance that it needs. Once you begin to grow your tomatoes, as long as there is adequate sun you will be in fine shape. In the tropics because of the warm climate tomatoes are grown all year round. There is an abundance of sunlight in these parts and this makes growing these vegetables quite simple.
A fourth vegetable that is rather easy to grow is lettuce. Whether it be head lettuce or spinach etc. it is one of the easiest vegetables to grow. Just your minimal maintenance is needed for this vegetable and you will in turn reap enough to make any planter happy.
The fifth vegetable I would like to highlight as one of the easiest vegetables to grow is green peas. Again, not much to this, just sow the seed and watch the plant blossom. Not only do they grow at a relatively quick rate but they also attract few pests.
These are my five picks for easiest vegetables to grow. Feel free to comment below and let me know your thoughts on this list of vegetables.
