Bonsai tree plants are given adequate supply of water, air, light and nutrients, and with the proper care, they usually outlive the full-grown tree of same species.
Bonsai tree plants can be grown from cuttings, seeds, or naturally occurring stunted trees that are transplanted into the containers. After initial pruning and repotting, the trunk and branches of Bonsai trees are wired so that they grow in the desired shape.
Bonsai tree plants are always positioned off-center so that the asymmetry can bring the charm of bonsai plant. These plants are also given the triangular pattern so that the visual balance is attained. Bonsai tree plants are admired for their age, and can be passes down from generation to generation. Bonsai plant maintenance is not difficult, but it needs lots of patience and dedication.

Most commonly used bonsai tree plants are Figs, Ficus, Elm, Cedar, Jade plant, Star magnolia, Trident maple, Cotton Easter, Zelkova Serrata, Cotton Easter, African Baobab, Adenuim and Bougainvillea.
A good mix of soil for bonsai tree plants must have three parts of half-burnt clay, three parts of leaf mould and two parts of coarse sand. The soil for Bonsai should not be soggy, and it is important to not give the excess feed. In the growing season, the fertilizer should be given twice a month. Liquid feed can be made by mixing the mustard extract or cow manure with water.
If bonsai tree plants are kept indoors, you must consider the temperature, humidity and lighting of the room for proper growth of the bonsai plant.
