Although many gardeners enjoy nature, they only enjoy it to a point. It can be incredibly stressful to work so hard growing a flower bed or organic vegetable garden only to have it eaten away by nibbling animals. Unfortunately, as man destroys more and more of the natural environment, nibbling wild animals have less and less natural sources of food. They can't help themselves by helping themselves to your garden. Here are some organic garden sprays to repel them.

Hot Pepper

This organic garden spray is not to be used on vegetables, fruit or edible herbs as you will be able to taste the pepper. It's this bad taste that protects your plants. Once rabbits, deer or other nibblers get a taste, they'll leave your garden alone. You need a blender to make this organic garden spray.

In your blender, place six of the hottest peppers you can find, two cups and one quart of water. You might want to put on goggles because of the fumes. Be sure to wash your hands before touching your face at any point of making or handling this organic garden spray. Blend well for one or two minutes, strain through a cheesecloth, leave to brew for a day, then pour it into spray bottles and use. Add water to thin it out if you need to.

Garlic Insecticide

Insects do more damage with their nibbling than do rabbits or deer and they are a lot harder to keep off of your plants. You can deter them through the smell of garlic, a natural insecticide (as well as vampire deterrent, although vampires tend not to eat gardens, just gardeners). You also need a blender for this.

To make this organic garden spay, take one garlic bulb and two cups of water. Blend on high for one or two minutes. Pour into a container and leave sit for a day to get really potent. Strain the bits out through cheesecloth into another container. Mix in a gallon of water to thin it out and then put in spray bottles to use as an organic garden spray.

Water

Just plain water can act as an effective organic garden spray as long as it's sprayed on with some force. Heavy sprays of water can kill aphids, those tiny green insects that love to chew up your plants. They also scare the crap out of the neighborhood cats who love to use your garden as a personal litter box.
