The path to a successful journey is always easier if one is carrying appropriate tools with him. For the completion of any job, it is extremely essential that one be equipped with the right kind of tools to overcome any possible difficulties or to just simply facilitate the work being performed.
To remove a tree stump easily, without much hassle when needs to decide the method he will be using and then obtain tools that will be used accordingly. Below is a general overview of all the tools that are usually used and the jobs they are used to perform.
Stump Grinder- this is a big, heavy machine weighing about half a ton or so. A trailer is used to transport it from one place to another as people do not purchase it actually but rent it from landscaping shops. The machine has a circular blade attached to it which has sharp razor edged teeth all along its diameter that are used to chip away the wood from the stump and gradually grind up the stump completely.
Power Drill- this is a drill almost exactly like the normal drill only a little bigger with a harder and longer drilling screw. This drill is used to drill holes in the stump that are filled with a product made up of potassium nitrate to decompose the stump.
Axe- everyone is familiar with what this tool is. It is a tool with a long wooden handle to hold with and a sharp edged metal piece at the opposite end used to chop and cut wood.
Eye Protecting Shield- this shield is made up of plastic with a transparent plastic sheet in the front about the length enough to cover your face up till the nose. It is absolutely necessary to wear this when cutting or grinding wood in case if wooden debris flies in the eye or is breathed in through the nose.
Shovel- almost all people own this tool. It also like an axe has a long wooden handle to hold and work with and a bigger flatter metal piece at the other end. It is not exactly as sharp as the one on an axe. A shovel is used for simple digging purposes.
Digging Spade- this is a special kind of shovel also used for digging purposes. It has a sharper metal end as compared to a regular shovel. It also has small, flat shelf like holdings right at the top of the blade where the user can place his foot and force down the spade as deep in the ground as he wants.
Chain Saw- this is a modern form of an axe that uses a motor and less human power to saw into a tree trunk. The saw uses a chain attached round it to cut through the wood easily.
Digging Bar- this is again a tool used for digging only with more features than a digging spade. This a long metal rod with a spade or shovel type flat, sharp end on one side and a similar blunt end on the other side. This end is used to pry away any rocky hard pieces in the way of digging.
