Pronunciation: an'them-iss
Few species in this large Eurasian genus have ornamental value, except A. tinctoria, which is widely grown for its finely divided leaves and long flowering period. Plants are carefree and their flowers are good for cutting.
Grow in moderately fertile, well-drained soil in full sun. To increase their longevity, cut plants back hard after flowering to encourage fresh growth and secondary flowering. Prefers a cool start when first planted.
