Thermopsis' flowers are borne in pea-like spires on erect stems with three-lobed leaves. Grow in average, well-drained soil. Fertilize just once, in early spring, with a granular, balanced fertilizer such as 10-10-10.

It’s also best to choose a permanent location when planting Thermopsis, as its roots resent disturbance once established.
