Annual clary (Salvia viridis Claryssa). 18-inch stems covered with showy dark-veined pink, purple, and white bracts. Dries well.

Bishop's lace (Ammi majus). Snowflake-shaped clusters of small, bright white flowers. Classic filler; looks good with everything. Short season but often self-sows.

Cerinthe (C. major 'Purpurascens'). Purplish blue upper leaves and bracts, tubular purple flowers. Self-sows readily.

Lisianthus (Eustoma grandiflorum). Striking single or double flowers of pink, cream, lavender, and purple. Plant from nursery pots; needs warm weather and well-drained soil.
