The two raised beds in the nursery yard were planted by the WASH project. Recently people have been noticing the GIANT tomatoes slowly ripening in the jungle-like tomato bed. What are they? Buffalo Giant Heart tomatoes that were part of our heirloom vegetable program in the late spring. With the name ‘Buffalo Heart’ we need we had to have these rare Polish tomatoes.

 

There are an abundance of small pear-shaped tomatoes that are just starting to ripen as well.

 

 

We also have a malabar spinach vine twining around the fence posts and bike tires. Have you tried growing (or eating) any of these vegetables? What did you think?
