Sedum is a wonderful plant in a sunny, well drained garden. The fleshy leaves retain water, making sedum drought and heat tolerant once they are established in the garden. They flower in late summer, and some of the buds on our plants are just starting to open. Flower heads can be left on throughout the winter, providing a little interest during an otherwise bleak time.
Here are a few varieties that we are carrying:
Creates a 12″ by 12″ mound. Tiny white flowers bloom in mid to late summer and are attractive to butterflies. Spent flowers retain their shape, which can add winter interest to the garden. (Top left in the photo below.)
Bluish, dark purple foliage with raspberry flowers that last into the fall. Only grows about 8 inches high, but spreads to more than twice its height. (Bottom left in photo below.)
Bright pink blooms that mature to coppery by September. Stems and foliage are bright green. (Right side in photo below.)
