The first session of Gardeners’ Give & Take for 2011 was held on Saturday at Urban Roots.  It was well attended by familiar faces as well as new ones.  The store warmed up fast and so did the conversation.  Among our “agenda” points:

• Birds in the garden/birds without feeders/creating attractive bird habitats
• Dealing with wildlife pests, especially rabbits and rats
• State environmental policies regarding invasive plants, and other mysteries…
• Forcing bulbs indoors, bringing outdoor bulbs in for double duty.
• Foundation plantings: a design question to consider

Obviously, the discussion was wide ranging and it was very informative.  We look forward to continuing discussion on some of these issues, and also to new agendas, in the coming weeks at Gardeners’ Give & Take.  We invite new participants to this low-key gardeners’ round table which will meet at 10am Saturday mornings on:

• January 22nd
• February 5th and 19th
• March 5th and 19th
