We want to be sure that the Holiday shoppers don’t miss out on all the wonderful places our neighborhood has to offer. Their locations are called out with quirky illustrations of the building exteriors and supplemented by the everyday items you see in our city. We plan to hand the maps out around town over the next few days. (see below for locations)
Few know how many unique storefronts lie between Richmond Avenue and Niagara Street. You’ll find hidden gems such as a brand new art gallery, a rehabbed music venue/antique shop, a screen printing place and of course, a very talented artist, Scott Bye, featured at Urban Roots December 4-6th during Open Studios.
Scott Bye is a local sculptor and painter who joins functionality and fiction. He transforms everyday objects into ambiguous structures. composite workhorses and beautifully complex assemblages. Scott will be accompanied by Doug Sargent, another sculptor who uses recycled material to produce garden worthy decor. Be sure to stop in the weekend of December 4th for a hot drink and yummy snacks.
