Adding Life to the Office
Sometimes, the walls of your office can feel too much like a penitentiary. Day in and day out, employees will come in and sit down in front of square walls and a computer monitor. Can you see the creativity being squelched? However, with a few simple steps, you can transform your environment into something much more welcoming and inspiring. Choose a place in your office to add a good-sized tree, such as a Japanese maple, to revitalize your work area. Many offices have put in silk trees because most of their conference rooms or offices do not have natural lighting available. Adding a small fountain gives the ambiance of running water, which will compliment any other greenery you add to your workplace. These improvements make it much more enjoyable to spend the day in your office.
Rearranging: A Lost Art of Home Dcor
Sometimes when I am at the craft store, it is easy to think that buying a certain item will add so much to the look of my home. This mode of thought not only leaves me constantly wanting for the next available item but also leaves my wallet empty. All too often that purchase ends up leaving my home at the next yard sale. I have been surprised to discover that rearranging my furniture and decorations is often more satisfying"and flattering"than adding something new. Sometimes I do something drastic (rearrange an entire room), and sometimes the change is more subtle (swapping this picture for that painting), but it still gives me the feeling of having a nice change in the house. It is the best of both worlds: I get the experience of interior decorating, and my bank account balance doesn’t go down a penny!
Silk Grass Arrangements
One less well known but interesting and attractive way to decorate your house is to use arrangements with artificial grass. If you plan to have a Western or desert-like element to your house, or to one of the rooms, you might want to consider silk grass arrangements. Grass arrangements are typically smaller than plants and can be compared to silk flower arrangements. They also make great accents for some of the larger greenery. Another place you may put silk grass is by indoor water fountains and along windows. Choosing to use silk grasses allows you to step outside the typical decorative modes and try something new and invigorating. The more you play with different ideas and elements, the easier it will be to find the perfect look for each room in your house.
Decorating with Bamboo Plants
The bamboo plant is currently one of the most popular choices in plants. Not only are there many diverse and beautiful arrangements for the bamboo, but it also is quite resilient. The bamboo plant is known to last for long amounts of time without water, so they are easily maintained in an office or home. There is actually a myth that the bamboo plant does not die unless someone has been unfaithful to the owner of the plant. The many shapes and varieties of bamboo have led them to be included in many floral arrangements. When decorating with a bamboo plant, you will want to make sure it has enough space vertically in order for it to grow and for people to enjoy the trunk of the tree. Also, the bamboo leaves are very large and will require extensive cleaning, particularly if you own a silk plant. Bamboo trees are an excellent choice for home decor design and enjoyment.
