Glittering Fake Shrubbery Enrichment: Enjoyable Strategies

Ferns

There are two distinct ways of decorating with greenery. You can find some beautiful greenery, bring it home, and play around with your furniture layout so that your plant has adequate room and a natural resting place. Other people decide exactly where in their home they need some greenery, and then look for a plant that fits the size and style needed. Either way, if you do not have a huge amount of room but you want an adequate amount of greenery, using ferns is a good choice. Ferns are great in tight spaces because their leaves are quite narrow and grow into whatever area that you please. There is a wide variety of live and artificial ferns. Ferns are pretty resilient, and are fairly easy to care for and maintain. Even more easy to maintain and care for are silk plants. Unlike flowers, ferns do not naturally draw the attention of the eye but work well as backdrops to other home decor items. Using a flower display in tandem with a few ferns can have a very attractive effect.

Topiary Plants

The definition of a topiary is a plant that is trimmed in a fashion not ordinarily appearing to be a plant. Hedges and bonsai trees, which are very dense plants, are a perfect canvas for topiary design. There is almost no end to what can be created: people and animals, geometric shapes, and detailed landscapes and mazes are all common choices. Though real topiaries are often enormous in scale, there are many, many designs available with smaller silk plants. You have probably seen silk topiaries before in the workplace or in churches and other public buildings. The most common design for the silk topiary is the spiral. This is due to the small offices and spaces that these topiaries are required to fill.

How to Synchronize Colors for Flower Arrangements

When designing with fake or real flowers, it is important to coordinate color. If you are just starting a flower arranging hobby, a great idea is to pop into a flower shop and observe the colors that are used in the arrangements that really catch your eye. You can also do this activity using online websites with photographs of floral designs. Keep in mind that there are two ways to arrange flowers. One technique groups flowers that belong to the same geographical area or season together; this is called a natural arrangement. These types of arrangements almost look like you have taken a natural garden or field and placed them in your home. The other technique is to bring together flowers based on their shapes and colors. This style is commonly found at events, like weddings, and other celebrations. When using this strategy, choose multiple tints of one color for the design.

The Importance of Fertilization with Potted Plants

An interesting but little known fact regarding plants is that those in the ground need much less fertilization than potted plants. There are two reasons for this: first, potted plants are in their young growing stages and need more nutrients. Potted plants also are dealing with a more limited, less renewed and rejuvenated soil Fertilization doesn't need to be a very complicated process; in fact, there are many options available to you. Local gardening stores sell packages of fertilizer meant for potted plants. Please follow the directions, as each fertilizer can be different. There are also many fertilizers they can be put in to the water as you water the plants. This is a nice option that allows you to take care of both watering and fertilizing the same time.
