A apartment or bureau without any coloring or decoration makes you feel like being in a very sterile environment and in the end, you may get or feel depressed. Now, there are many things you could decorate your surrounding with. Like previously mentioned, for example sculptures, art and paintings or wallpapers, either of stars, games or concerning your hobbies. Alternatively, you could style your walls up with postcards or so, but that's another topic. Today I'll present you with several flowers you could decorate both your bureau and home with. Especially in a big bureau with several people in it, flowers always add a very nice feeling to your working day.
You could try choosing a plant with larger or bigger branches for open-plan office borders or limitations, like the so-called spider plant (lat. "Chlorophytum"). It withstands both warm and cold air, as well as dry and a bit more humid one. It won't bother if you don't water it for 2-3 days and grows at both dark and bright locations.
If truncated often enough, you could also try keeping the "Ficus elastica," aka Indian rubber or simply gum tree. Even though it requires to be truncated at least every 2 weeks as it can get up to 5m tall and very big, it won't mind not getting enough water and is also very robust otherwise, though you also have to manure it regularly. Make sure to not place it next to a heater though.
Another nice plant, even though a bit harder to keep, is the date palm, in Latin called "Phoenix canariensis." It's one of the most bought room plants in both Europe and North America and grows very fast if supplied with enough light, which it should always be provided with. It's best to place it at either a window located to the south or if you don't want it to grow too fast "half-shadowed," so with only a part of it located in sunlight. It requires much water when it's warmer out- and inside, though only a very little amount in winter when being kept at around 10掳C(~45掳F).
A few other very important facts about plants is, that they clean the air and produce oxygen, especially important in bureaus and of course at home, too. They filter out CO2 for example. Also important is that they evaporate the water they previously got via their leafs. Especially the date palm and the rubber tree feature this, therefore they also reduce the risk of asthma due to the more humid air. Last but not least, they 鈥?as weird as it may sound 鈥?also reduce the noise level at work or school, because they chill everything down a bit and also have some effect on the soul.
I hope I was able to give you a small overview over the most interesting and important plants, making sure that it is suitable for your home or apartment and making sure to improve your and your families or fellow co-workers feelings as well as allowing you to create a nicer environment!
