Put sod down the right way. Your soil should be prepared before you lay the sod. Pull out any weeds and break up the soil. Lightly, but firmly compact the soil, making sure it is flat. Make sure you work with a moist soil. Avoid laying your sod in straight rows with all of the seams lining up. Instead, stagger the rows for a more pleasing visual effect. Sod should be firm and have an even, flat surface without gaps. Sod must be watered every day for about two weeks, and then it will have rooted and be completely ready to be walked on.

TIP! Clay is difficult to dig through with a shovel, as it is sticky and compact. One way to get around this problem is to coat the shovel with wax.

So that you don’t shock your plants, try gradually accustoming them to conditions and temperature. Leave them outside in sunlight for a couple of hours on the initial day. Over the course of a week, slowly increase the amount of time that you leave them outside. After a week’s time, the plants should be fine staying outside.

TIP! Save some plants in the winter by bringing them indoors. Find out which plants will be able to thrive despite the transplanting and different indoor conditions.

If you see mildew that is powdery, stay away from expensive chemicals to treat it. Put a little baking soda and some dish soap in water. Spray this on your plants once a week until the mildew disappears. This method is not going to cause any damages to your plants and the mildew will go away slowly.

TIP! For proper optimum growth, plants require sufficient amounts of carbon dioxide (CO2). Plants will not thrive if they don’t have an adequate amount of CO2.
