There is something about decorating your garden and porch for fall. It’s a welcoming feeling, and it’s full of warmth of the season to come. I love sharing that slower season with all my friends and family, and enjoying those cooler days outdoors. Decorating for fall is a natural for most gardeners. We just feel it… the need to connect with the garden as the coming winter draws a little closer, putting to sleep the natural world. It’s kind of a cross between celebrating the end of a summer full of harvest and color and fun… and welcoming the change that has to come every year. We gardeners, we work with it. So here are some great ideas for fall garden décor!
Fall Decorating for the Garden
This entry porch is nothing more than a stamped rug, a grapevine wreath on the door, and pots of yellow mums…note the pots the mums are planted in are just free nursery pots spray painted yellow!
Use a glue gun to adhere silk fall leaves to a paper mache monogram for the front door. Branches flanking the entry, and a few pumpkins and gourds, plus four mums. Simple, inexpensive, Use white pumpkins for a fresher more modern look, and orange for a warmer, more traditional vibe.
Nothing is more “natural” for fall entry decor then…well, nature! Wreaths with a natural theme are perfect for this time of year.
Gotta love this update on the traditional fall pumpkin carving!
Hollow out a gourd to create a one of a kind fall vase for the porch or garden!
House numbers carved lightly into pumpkins…you could make this look more modern by the container you choose…
This one speaks for itself… if you want to learn how to make a scarecrow, see our tutorial at The Budget Decorator.
