If you have several clay pots that contained annual flowers on your patio last summer, now is a good time to clean them before spring. The easiest method is to stack them in a big bucket and soak them. Mix 1 pint chlorine bleach with 9 pints of water to make a good disinfecting
solution. Leave the pots in the bucket for a few hours or overnight. You can use a stiff scrub brush on a handle to vigorously scrub off the dirt and fertilizer deposits from last year. Let the pots dry in the sunshine, and they will look brand-new.
