A Jade Plant, sometimes called a friendship tree, lucky plant, or money tree, is a green plant friend that just won’t die! It’s a perfect table plant or short bushy floor plant for a sunny hot location. Jade Plants are succulent houseplants with numerous thick, leathery, green leaves growing in clumps on thick stems. Some Jade Plant varieties develop red edges on their leaves when exposed to bright sunlight. A Jade Plant is native to the dry hills of South Africa, so it is very drought resistant. This compact sturdy plant produces tiny pink or white star-shaped flowers, not in the summer like most plants, but around Christmas. Jade Plants are one of the easiest houseplants to propagate either by stem cuttings or by stray leaves that fall into the soil.
