Anemone × hybrida September Charm

Japanese anemone (Anemone × hybrida 'September Charm') ah-NEM-oh-nee ex HY-brid-ah Synonyms:  Genus:  Anemone

Anemones thrive in light to partial shade but will tolerate full sun, as long as there is sufficient moisture. Site plants in moist, humus-rich soil, but avoid overly wet conditions. Apply mulch annually in northern regions.

Noteworthy Characteristics:  Taller than the species. Creamy pink flowers. Can be weedy or invasive. Care: 

Moist, fertile, humusy soil in sun or partial shade. May need support.

Propagation: 

Divide in early spring or after flowering; pot up for a year and replant in spring. Take root cuttings in spring. Sow seed in containers in a cold frame when ripe, but germination may be erratic and lengthy.

Problems: 

Caterpillars, slugs, flea beetles. Synchytrium leaf gall, downy mildew, leaf and stem smut, Septoria leaf spot, powdery mildew, and rust are all very common to Anemones, and viruses may also occur.
