Trumpet creeper is a vigorous climber with clusters of  trumpet-shaped orange to red flowers from late summer to autumn.

Noteworthy Characteristics: 

Needs a strong support and room to grow. May take several years to flower. Attracts hummingbirds. Native to the southeastern U.S.

Care: 

Grows well in poor soil. Train young shoots onto a trellis. Where borderline hardy, plant against a south facing wall. Very adaptable.

Propagation: 

Sow seed in autumn in a cold frame. Root leaf-bud cuttings in spring or semi-ripe cuttings in summer.

Problems: 

Fungal leaf spots, powdery mildew, scale, mealybugs, and whiteflies.
