'Route 66' features big, bold, bicolor blooms. A rich ring of burgundy surrounding the flower center bleeds out to the very tips of the yellow petals. Narrow, deep-green foliage forms vigorous, uniform clumps.
Noteworthy Characteristics:
This new variety, discovered in Pennsylvania, has proven a reliable survivor through cold Pennsylvania winters.
Care:
Easy. Grow in full sun. Keep moderately moist. Prefers fertile, well-drained soil. Can tolerate dry conditions once established. Cut back in late summer to encourage regrowth and rebloom.
Propagation:
Cutting or division. PPAF. Asexual propagation prohibited without license.
Problems:
Watch for powdery mildew in humid conditions.
