DRAH-bah eye-ZOY-deez
Yellow whitlow grass is a small, semi-evergreen perennial perfect for growing in a trough, rock wall, or xeric bed. It grows to only 4 inches high and twice as wide. This delightful, drought-tolerant miniature has spiny rosettes of lustrous green leaves through the winter and cheerful yellow flowers in early spring.
Care:
Provide full sun and well-drained soil.
Propagation:
Easy to start from seed. Sow in winter for spring germination. Seedlings will be tiny for a long time, but they can remain in pots for an extended period with no ill effect.
Problems:
If grown indoors, watch for aphids and spider mites. Rust, white rust, and mildew sometimes affect garden plants.
