Duranta erecta

Duranta erecta 'Golden Edge' Golden dewdrop (Duranta erecta) doo-RAN-tah ee-REK-tah Synonyms:  D. plumieri Genus:  Duranta This tropical shrub or small tree may be grown in a mixed or shrub border; in colder climates, it does well in a temperate greenhouse. Flowers in shades of sky-blue, lilac, purple, or white blossom gracefully along arching branches in summer; they are followed by spherical, yellow fruit. Care:  In late winter or early spring, prune wayward shoots to maintain size. Outdoors, grow in moist, well-drainded soil in full sun. Indoors, provide shade from hot sun and water sparingly in winter. Propagation:  Sow seed in spring from 64° to 70°F; take semi-ripe cuttings with bottom heat in summer. Problems:  Spider mites, mealybugs, whiteflies, leaf spot, damping off.
