Lamium galeobdolon 'Hermann's Pride'

Yellow archangel (Lamium galeobdolon) LAY-mee-um gal-ee-OB-doe-lon Synonyms:  Galeobdolon luteum Genus:  Lamium

This rhizomatous perennial has erect or creeping stems and silvery leaves. In summer, it produces spikes of yellow flowers spotted with brown. A less invasive cultivar is 'Hermann's Pride'.

Noteworthy Characteristics: 

Very invasive.

Care: 

Grow in moist but well-drained soil. Control spreading habit by digging out rhizomes.

Propagation: 

Divide in autumn or early spring.

Problems: 

Downy mildew, powdery mildew, leaf spot, slugs, and snails.
