Q: What in the world are these green things growing inside my green (red) pepper?
A: It may look yucky, but what you’re seeing is a not uncommon internal proliferation. It’s especially common in peppers that are picked unripe and artificially ripened for market.
Whether this is due to the rapid changes in temperature and humidity or the ethylene gas used to ripen them isn’t clearly understood.
