Q: Can you help me find a good Web site for diagnosing problems with indoor plants?
A: Now that winter is approaching, houseplants are moved indoors from their summer home on decks and patios. Though most thrive in the dappled summer sunshine, some acquire insect pests. Plants that stay inside year-round might have suffered from neglect while their owners went on vacation. I have three good references for you. The first (http://www.ces.uga.edu/pubcd/b959-w.html) is a general reference from the University of Georgia on the care and culture of houseplants. The second (http://www.extension.umn.edu/distribution/horticulture/DG1031.html) and third (http://www.extension.umn.edu/distribution/horticulture/DG1170.html) are from the University of Minnesota. They deal, respectively, with insect pests and with foliage problems of houseplants.
