Q: I recently had a soil test done through UGA. It also recommended 16-4-8 fertilizer. I can’t seem to find it anywhere locally, and it is very expensive to have shipped. Any suggestions?
A: Using the UGA fertilizer calculator and the grades of fertilizer I found at Home Depot, you could use
10.9 pounds of 24-0-11 plus 3.3 pounds of 18-24-12 per 1000 square feet.
You could also use 8.0 pounds of 10-10-10 plus 10.0 pounds of 24-0-11 per 1000 square feet.
