Q: We have a pear tree in the backyard which we don’t do much with. This year it was loaded with pears. When the pears starting dropping we noticed that our dogs took interest in them. We soon noticed that they were making a regular search under the tree and coming back with pears which they then proceeded to gnaw on and eat.
A: Funny – just this week a friend mentioned that her dog stole an apple from the kitchen counter and enjoyed it very much while hiding behind the sofa!
Outdoor dining is fine because the dogs can relieve themselves from gastric upset when they feel the need. If you feed them more than a slice indoors, be ready to let them outside immediately if they start whining!
