Q: I have a Cherry tree with several roots that are partially above ground. On these roots, there are clumps of seedlings which are around three feet tall and starting to bloom. I would like to transplant these seedlings. Is it possible to remove them from the roots without damaging them or the tree?
A: No, the root sprouts must have substantial roots attached to them in order to live and if you remove the root beneath them you will harm the mother tree.
