Q: In November, I cut all the dead blossoms from my geraniums and transplanted them into pots and put them in the garage. Now the plants are full of healthy green leaves. Can they be replanted in the spring as they are or should they be cut back?
A: If you can keep the leaves from freezing in the garage this winter, the geraniums should be fine to plant in spring after the last frost. I’m assuming you have plenty of light in the garage but if light is limited and the stems start stretching it would be better to cut them back by half and let them sprout leaves again before April.
