Q: Two years ago there was construction going on nearby, and red clay was dumped into the lake I live on. Now, my neighbors, who use the lake water for irrigation have stains on their patios and houses and dead plants. I think the iron, from the dumped clay, is causing the staining. Can we treat the water to remove the iron?
A: I’m not an expert on this but members of the Georgia Lakes Society might be able to advise.
Derry Stockbridge, second to last on the list, has been in the lake management business for several years.
