Q: I have this weed/thorn vine growing in my side yard and I can’t seem to get rid of it can you help me. It’s like a rose stem that is reddish/green with thorns; it only grows about 1-2 feet off the ground.

I think it’s common blackberry…which is a member of the rose family
The odd color is caused by cold night temperatures.
Clipping the stem won’t kill it. Try to dig up the root and remove the whole plant.
