Q: I have four variegated yucca plants in my garden and all but one bloomed. However, with the blooming I noticed that the plant had produced others – can I separate them or should I just leave them alone and let them expand on their own?
A: Theresa Schrum replies: “You can separate the babies from the yucca (commonly called pups).
You will probably need to dig up the entire plant and separate them gently. I would do this probably early next spring. Let the pups get some size before dividing.”
