Q: Can or should centipede be over seeded? If so should I thoroughly aerate first?

A: You should not overseed with anything else (like rye) in the winter but you can over plant with centipede seed in June.

Aerate heavily first, scatter seed, then drag a piece of chainlink fence or heavy carpet over the lawn to assure good seed to soil contact. Water frequently for ten days and hand-pull any weeds.
