Korean Hornbeam

Question
I have a Korean Hornbeam Bonsai and it has recently been moved outside for the summer.  It is watered well and I pretty much have the watering regiment figured out.  The leaves are beginning to burn around the outsides and it is slowing its growth.  It is only 2 years old, so I figured it would have a longer growing season than older plants.  I was wondering what you think could be causing the leaves to burn?  I have read that the heat and sun can easily effect these trees, so I have moved it into the shade and the browning has slowed.  I was wondering if this is the proper thing to do, keeping the tree out of the sun?  Also, what can I do to stimulate growth?  I have been feeding it every two weeks and it seems really healthy and happy, just the leaf burn and no new growth.

Answer
Hi Cale,

Sorry that no one has responded to your question sooner. I believe i'm the only person answering bonsai related questions.

It's possible that the sun is burning your leaves. I would not place the hornbeam in full shade, but a few hours a sun is okay. I would also stop fertilizing your tree until it returns to health. you do not want to feed an unhealthy tree. Once the tree adjusts itself to its new environment, the leaf browning should stop.
