QuestionQUESTION: I just bought one of these and plan on planting it in my backyard. While doing
research i stumble by someone who said that they attract bees. I need to
know if this is true as my sister is allergic to bees.
If this is he case, i will be returning it. I am not sure you could answer this
today as i was planning on planting it today.
Thank you in advance for your quick response.

ANSWER: Hi Divina, yes it will attract bees, but only when it is in bloom, which lasts about a month, and then they are gone; but this is necessary for pollination. I used to keep Honey Bees, and they are not anything like wasps or yellow jackets, very, very, gentle; the only way you can get a Honey Bee to sting you, is if you actually grab it and squeeze her (yes they are female!)...I used to demonstrate how gentle they were, by letting them crawl on my hand from a blossom, and then gently putting them back on the blossom. QUESTION: Thank you very much Nick, I can now safely go ahead an plant the tree since
my sister does not normally come to visit early spring. I was afraid since she
was close to death last time she was sting.
Any recomendations for fast growth, i had to buy it smaller to keep my
backyard budget,
Again, thanks very much for the quick answer.

Answer..Plant it where it will get morning sun and afternoon shade for about a year, then if need be, it can be moved to a full sun location; there is no quick growth trick, the key is to maintain a healthy tree and let it put its energy into growth for the first couple of years by taking off any fruit.
