Question
I'm wondering what is the best very low maintenance plant for a hanging basket?  I've had pansies the past two years during the spring and summer, but they were just too high maintenance for me with the regular deadheading needed.  I'm looking for something that requires very little maintenance.  Any suggestions?  Thanks very much.

Hi Jen, most annuals that would be appropriate for a hanging basket are terminal, they will give you color and enjoyment for a finate period of time and then begin to become leggy and decline; the best case scenerio for this is an annual that will require as little attention as possible for this period of time. My favorite annual for hanging baskets is Petunias, they are very forgiving and with a little water and pinching, will give you months of color. There are others, but you asked for the best (in my opinion...)and the Petunia is it. Nick
