Will this work?

Question
Hi, I'm not very skilled at gardening, although I thoroughly enjoy it. I'm not very old (i'm only 15), but plants interest me extraordinarily! Could you maybe help me?

I have a "branch" of a lily plant, I'm not sure which type, but I do live in the Northern Part of Georgia (in the U.S.) and i'd like to know, is it possible for the lily plant to regrow if it's in a vase of water?

I have the flower, which was a bud when it was chopped off, in a vase of it's own, and then two branches, one with leaves, one without, in their own vase, which is considerably larger than the vase that the lily is in. The flower already has started to form pollen, and I'm very optimistic that it will continue to grow. The branches have healed slightly where I pruned them, and they seem to be doing well. Will they continue to grow, or will they stop soon??

Thanks for reading!
Mason

Answer
No, it will not work, I'm sorry.
A lily is a BULB. The bulb is what gives the lily its food, and water, and roots. The plant on top of the bulb is only the result of how well the bulb is able to make it grow. But the plant on top of the bulb can not grow a bulb. Only the bulb can grow a plant.
