QuestionIm a college student @ UA and this past spring I plant some fruit bushes in containers. Since i don't plan on staying here permanently, i want to be able to transport my plant to a more permanent local in the future. One in particular was a turkey fig bush. The fig bush took off immediately with rigorous growth. I water my plants every morning. Recently, the leaves on my fig bush have been turning yellow and falling off. Is this because Ive planted it a container and do i need to transfer into a bigger container? Can fig bushes even be planter in containers?
your advise will be greatly appreciated.

AnswerIt could be that you are watering too little, too often. If the container is in the sun, which it should be, the roots may be getting too hot. Try shading the container, and leaving the tree in full sun. Then water heavily, so that the water runs out the bottom, repeat several times, then don't water again, until the soil is dry to the touch, then repeat the heavy watering.
If it has been a while since you re-potted it, then pull it out of the pot, and check the roots. If they are thick at the bottom then it is time to find a bigger container. Make sure it is only one size bigger. Use a very good potting soil, with time release fertilizer.
Fertilize with a LOW nitrogen fertilizer once a month, until the end of August. Then stop until next spring when it begins to grow again.
Yes, the Brown Turkey fig does very well in a container. I would suggest looking for a complete guide to growing it through out the year.
