Question
Hi! I bought some shamrock bulbs (regnelli white) a few months ago and planted each one in a 3 inch pot. I keep them indoors close to a window where they get indirect sunlight. We keep the temperature in the house between 65 - 70. So far, all that has grown from each bulb is one tall stalk  topped with the 3 leaves. There is no other growth visible. Once, one plant produced flowers. Should I transplant them into a bigger pot? Will it help if I put them all close together?

Hi Jo-Ann, the rule of thumb is about 5 of them in a 10 inch pot together (albeit you didn't mention how many you planted); you may have planted them too deep, only 1 inch under the soil is good and indirect light isn't going to cut it, that is probably he reason for the long stalk, (seeking more light), they really need to be moved to a bright light location. They are pretty easy to grow if you do this, and when they eventually go dormant, just wait until they completely die back, then cut off the remaining dead leaves, and after a 2-3 month sleep, they will regrow....regards Nick:)
