My croton houseplant has grown 3 extensions which keep getting little star like flowers. They fall off and new ones grow. Are they flowers? If I plant them will they grow more corton plants? What can you tell me about them. thanks laurie

There are about 730 species of Croton. Some flower and some don't. The ones that flower, usually flower repeatedly, like your does. The flowers will not grow any more Crotons. The plants are propagated from soft wood cuttings.
Crotons are highly poisonous. So be very careful not to have them where children, or animals might eat them. Wash your hands carefully after handling them. Always keep them in a well ventilated room. One plant is not going to be as much a problem as say ten plants in a tightly enclosed room. They are very beautiful plants, but it is their danger that keeps them from being more popular.
