QuestionHi!
My 91-year-old grandmother has a lovely vegetable garden that
she tends to everyday. She lives in Florida near the Tampa area.
She has had her garden for years but she recently has been
having a problem. She has 4 tomato plants and she used to
have a few broccoli plants until some unknown animal (perhaps
a rabbit?) has been eating just about everything. It eats the
tomatoes when they are still green or picks them and hides them
in various places in her yard. One neighbor of her's put up a
fence around their tomato plant so my grandmother did the
same. This did not stop the animal. She doesn't know what to
do and it is driving her crazy. Any suggestions?
Thank you so much for your help!!!
Laura
AnswerSince I am an expert on container gardening, I am afraid you are out of my area of experience with the little critter. But, I can advise you to get in touch with the Florida university extension service. The county agent should be able to advise you.The Master gardeners are also there with information and advise. That is your best source for local information. Much better then my guessing from here in Oregon.
Give them as much information as you can about what you have observed.
