QuestionHi,
I have planted impatiens in a container. They get indirect morning sun but not for long. I have been watering them every day for the most part. They have just started to have some leaves that are yellowing. Am I over watering them or do you think they need more sunlight? I can never remember whether yellow leaves are too much water or too little. Thanks.
AnswerFirst thing I see, "I have been watering them every day". I wonder why so much? Unless it is very hot, and dry, and in full sun, they should not dry out that soon. It would be better to check the soil, every day, to see if it is dry. If it is, then give them water. Let them dry out a little between watering. Because they are not in the sun, they may only need water once a week.
They will flower better with a little more sun or better light. They like to be cool. It is the heat from the sun that damages them. So if they have morning sun which is cooler then mid to afternoon sun, they will do well. If they don't get enough light they usually stretch, turn pale, and don't flower very well.
