Question
Hi, I have recently bought an apartment in Spain with a built in container on the terrace. Its about 2 metres x 1/2 metre. Im not going to be there to tend to plants on a regular basis so are there any you can recommend that will need little (or no) after care from planting? trailing and colourful would be good!

I'm sorry, flowers need care. They will not live without water. So unless you can put in a watering system on a timer, or have someone water for you. the plants will die. One solution, would be to use some nice artificial flowers that look real. They can be replaced by plants when you are there to water them. There are some easy care plants. The "Mediteranian" plants are drought tolerant. One that I have used in such cases is, trailing Rosemary. It has blue flowers. Blooms for a very long time. Requires little care, and smells nice.
