Question
My friend was given two small Mexican Heather plants as a gift.  She is going to repot them to larger containers and keep them on her porch.  We would like to know the instructions for proper care of these plants.

i'm in southern NJ. i knew a girl named heather from NJ in high school. a NJ heather, i guess. just a joke.
you need to visit a local garden center/nursery to quiz them on heather care in your area.
water by weight. put a saucer under the pot when watering. let it sit in the excess water for 5-10 minutes and then pour off the excess. pick up(or lean) the pot. it should feel heavy. don't water again until it feels considerably lighter in weight(usually about once every 3-10 days depending on pot size, sunlite, temps, etc.). do not let it go too dry(wilt). apply fertilizer monthly during the growing season.
