QuestionHow often can I use the Weed and Feed and/or regular fertilzer on my lawn to get the maximum benefit without hurting it?
AnswerYou can use these products every 60-90 days.
If you are located in the northern half of USA and grow cool season grass (Kentucky bluegrass, perennial ryegrass, and fescue) then fertilize in late spring, early fall and late fall. DO not fertilize in summer (does not matter what the fertilizer bags or commercials says)
If you are located in southern areas growing warm season grass (such as Bermuda, St. Augustine, zoysia, bahia, etc) then fertilize during the active growing season from late spring through early fall. Do not fertilize too early in spring.
Do not "double up" and apply both regular and weed-and-feed products at the same time. Allow minimum 60 days between each application.
Example, we are located in New Jersey and we apply lawn fertilizers in late May, early September and early November. If you have to apply fertilizer w/broadleaf weed control, then apply to a WET lawn and allow granules to stick to grass for 24-48 hours. Otherwise, always apply to dry grass leaves.
Good luck.
