QuestionMy impatiens have almost stopped blooming, but have plenty of green leaves. I did use Miracle Grow one watering a few weeks ago and have now read that this could be the problem. These impatiens were going to be used in a wedding which is 3 weeks away. My question is, can I do anything between now and then to encourage new blooms?
AnswerPinch the long stems back. Give plenty of sun, but never allow the soil to become very dry (e.g. protect from hot afternoon sun and give enough water to keep them growing actively). Then give fertilizer, such as 15-30-15, or 5-10-10. avoid fertilizer with too much nitrogen.
They should bloom in a few weeks again.
