QuestionI have tomatoe plants in 5 different varieties . This is the second year in a row that my plants were beautiful , tall , green , but produced NO tomatoes . What has happened ? Last year my wife grew them from seed , this year I bought them at a store .
AnswerMake sure tomato plants have access to deep, high organic / humus rich soil and that the soil is not allowed to dry out. Plant in full sun, and make sure that you fertilize regularily using a tomato type fertilizer, such as 10-20-20, 5-10-10, etc. The most common mistake with tomatos is to plant in shade, allow the plant to go through excessive wet/dry cycles, or using fertilizer that is too high in nitrogen (such as lawn fertilizer, or fertilizer formulated for trees or shrubs).
